Steinbach

Two long thin rectangular boxes perched in a prairie field.  A modern house on the edge of a traditional town, for a young, childless couple.  Along with most of its suburban neighbours, a ubiquitous double-car garage and basketball hoop face the street.  Concealed beyond - accessed via a gently rising ramp - are open main floor living spaces, peering out over distant cows and canola fields.  A central skylit spiralling stair fills the entry, leading skyward to a hovering second floor master suite, and down to spaces to accommodate guests.
