Charge Park

Submission to a competition looking for prototype ideas for new electric charging stations to help facilitate road-trips from coast to coast to coast. Rather than starting from scratch, existing roadside stops and attractions would see their parking lots electrified and enhanced as small tree-filled pocket parks specific to each location, complimenting and capitalizing on existing washrooms, food, entertainment, information, etc. Being sustainable means doing more with less. No new buildings are required, just the creation of enjoyable environments where good stuff can happen - for at least 20 minutes while recharging. Variety, paired with repetition make possible experiencing both, unique one-off sites, and sites that are intended to be enjoyed sequentially as you hopscotch across long distances. EV drivers can curate their stops to align with the interests of their passengers - be they kids, dogs or duffers.
